Thanksgiving Day 2007
It was very nice, it always is. I am so blessed to be with the people I love the most, my little family!!!!!
You know the story.
We cooked most of the day, a lovely meal, way too much to eat. But,,, we did eat and it took, wellllll about 15 minutes and we were stuffed. Then the rest of the day we cleaned up. Michael always makes the turkey, we are not allowed to touch the turkey, look at the turkey or ask about the turkey.
The turkey was excellent, so thank you Michael.
One of my favorite things this Thanksgiving was my grandchildren telling what they are thankful for, Tiler is thankful for his family and his church. I am thankful for that answer!! Sophie said Grace first and she thanked God for grass. Grass????? I guess grass is very important to a 5 year old little girl living in the desert.
I am thankful for my family, my health and that my grandchildren notice that there are stars in the sky but most of all I am thankful because.......
The Lord is my Shepherd and I shall not want. Psalm 23:1

Sew What!!!!
Some of my friends make fun of me because I sew. Maybe not just because I sew, but I meet up with a group of women and sew.
Some of those friends call it the QUILT PALOOZA (you know who you are) and they have been known to call it other things too.
I have a quilt class I attend once a month called the block of the month and we make a new block each month, in one year you should have enough blocks for a quilt top. I make the blocks but I never finished the quilt!!
I have so many projects started but not finished, I can't even remember them all.
There must be something very weird about me because most everyone else finishes theirs and brings them back to class and shows them off. Not me!! I just want to get started on the next one. This black and white quilt top is almost done; it needs borders on all sides and then it will be ready to finish the quilting process. I started it 3 years ago, see what I mean.
So this is a new year at the block of the month and this is my first block. I am going to try very hard to finish my quilt top with the rest of the ladies, and they will all be
shocked!!!
Everyone makes the same block each month, but guess what, yes you’re right, I don't always. Sometimes I don't like the block they are making and sometimes it is too hard. A hobby should not be hard, it should always be fun!!
Well, I'm rambling on now, sorry. I just wanted to share this with you because it is one of the things I love and when those friends refer to the PALOOZA you will know what they mean.

Marlene
Blue Ridge Reservoir Watson Lake
My friends in Tucson are the main reason I started this blog, so I can feel closer to them.
Is this too mushy?????
For those of you that don’t know Marlene,
here are some pictures of her.
When I moved away from Tucson over three years ago,
I left behind the BEST FRIENDS anyone could ever have.
Fortunately, my friend Marlene had moved to the Phoenix area just before I did. So we hang out together as much as possible.

Gone Hiking (Sunrise Peak)
Went hiking today, the boss is out of town, he will never know,
that is my handsome, intelligent and witty son-in-law (also the brains behind our business).
Anyway, it is still 88 degrees here unseasonably warm and by the time I arrived at the trail head, after fighting rush hour traffic for 1 hour and 20 minutes it had started to heat up.
It took Marlene and I way too long to do that hike because of my snail like pace.
Thanks Marlene for sharing your peanut butter sandwich with me,
I would not have made it without that.
I at least had a little energy left to take this picture with my new camera.
If you click on the picture you can see a great view of our wonderful
smog smothered downtown Phoenix area!!!!!!!!
